I visited The Ranch back in early 2020. I was in a bad place. I did 20 days as an outpatient, it was available then. Anyway, I received top-notch care there, my mental health was addressed, along with my self-medicating issues. I would definitely recommend The Ranch. They connected with me there and also connected me with counseling, and a recovery group afterwards. I still keep in touch, attend events, volunteer, etc. The “fun” facilitator is always available for a chat, direction and just really doing her best to be sure you are healthy and maintain it through fun and community. All the staff does an incredible job, they just want you to succeed!!!

My experience at The Ranch in York PA was single handedly one of the best treatment facilities I have ever been to. This was my second time going through treatment to get clean and sober. I have never been surrounded by a community that supports me the way I have been there. Something I have always searched for in recovery is brotherhood, understanding and compassion. These are the things that are offered, as well as amazing therapists and experiential groups. The large property gives me room to stretch my legs and most importantly connect with nature through hikes. As a first timer in rehab, I had already come up with an entire scenario for what I was walking into. I figured it would be cold, hard beds, terrible food, miserable staff, boring groups and an overall “prison life” experience. But The Ranch was everything BUT that. The facility is gorgeous, set on top of a mountain overlooking York, Lancaster and the Susquehanna River. Driving up you already feel like you are on top of the world. Its name suits it well, because it is a serene quiet cabin setting where sunsets and sunrises are something I cherish to this day. Not only are the staff wonderful and helpful, but they understood me. For the first time in my life, I felt I belonged somewhere and there was a tiny glimmer of hope that I can do this. During my time at The Ranch, I was able to heal mentally, spiritually and physically. That yearning to figure out why I was an addict became a reality during my stay. I also was able to heal deep rooted issues that caused many parts of my addiction. You get out what you put in and this facility saved my life. The Ranch helped me find myself and become excited about life again. And for that, I’m eternally grateful.
