“Zen Habits promotes a positive, healthy you”

Recently, an article appeared focusing on a blog called “Zen Habits” in which Leo Babauta extols his advice on finding simplicity within the world and ultimately, finding happiness. The blog boasts a readership of over 200,000 members and is listed as one of the “Top 25 Blogs in the World.” Like its minimalist outlook, Zen Habits only posts new blogs once or twice a week on a variety of subjects including “simplicity, health & fitness, motivation and inspiration, frugality, family life, happiness, goals, getting great things done, and living in the moment.”

Besides the blog, Babauta offers a number of other forums to share his ideas including Twitter, a secondary blog, a print book, and links to other great Zen resources. Because the blog has been running since 2007, Babauta also offers a “Beginners Guide” to understand some of his core philosophies and ideologies for readers who are new to the site. He writes in an easy, readable way on a large variety of topics, which is part of the reason that he is able to connect with so many readers on such a personal level.

Zen Habits is a great resource for anyone, but especially for those currently in recovery. Anyone is able to benefit from his advice, but for people in recovery, it provides examples on how to live a clean, healthy, fulfilling life without getting caught in the trappings of society and falling back in to negative patterns, which for those in recovery would mean drug and alcohol abuse.

While this blog is a great step to maintaining a clear and healthy outlook and self, sobriety is the natural first step to being able to benefit from its sage words. The Ranch PA offers in-patient treatment for drug and alcohol abuse and follows a holistic approach of recovery. During your time at The Ranch PA, you develop the tools to maintain sobriety after leaving and to begin treating your mind and body with the respect and love they need to thrive.

Zen Habits is a great additional resource to maintain your recovery and grow as a person in the process.
